Dom.ru offers a new format for services consumption – the HD
Telecom services operator Dom.ru launches new bundled offers in all the 42 cities of presence, comprising the basic telecom services – high-speed internet, cable and HD TV, and telephony. The key characteristics of the bundles are the utmost speed of internet access (up to 100 Mbit/sec around the clock) and the highest number of HD channels in the basic Dom.ru TV package among digital TV operators (23 channels), which enables the company’s Subscribers to consume high-quality HD content in the most convenient manner – with the help of a TV set or in the internet from any video-supporting mobile device.
Also, Dom.ru has simplified the line of service plans. For the first time the company offers only two unlimited high-speed internet plans – Dom.ru 50 (with speed up to 50 Mbit/sec round the clock) and Dom.ru 100 (with speed up to 100 Mbit/sec round the clock). With the launch of new service plans the minimal speed of internet access provided by Dom.ru service plans will grow 5-10 times (from 5-10 Mbit/sec to 50 Mbit/sec.). According to Net Index, the average internet speed in Russia amounts to about 15 Mbit/sec (30th place in the world), and the average speed provided to Dom.ru Subscribers is about 27 Mbit/sec (the first place among the federal internet-providers). With the introduction of new internet service plans the company plans to increase it up to 50 Mbit/sec.
Another innovation is the Subscriber’ option to choose between speed and cash characteristics of the proposal. Upon the connection to "2 in 1" or "3 in 1" bundle with Dom.ru 50 services plan, after the expiry of the promotional period (3 months) the Subscriber can either retain the current speed (in which case the subscriber fee increases by 20 rubles per month) or the current fee (in which case the speed drops to 5 Mbit/sec). During the promotional period the subscriber fee amounts to RUB 444 per month for "2 in 1" bundle and RUB 555 per month for "3 in 1" bundle with Dom.ru 50 service plan. The connection of the company’s new service Dom.ru HD TV is possible in "2 in 1" or "3 in 1" bundle with Dom.ru 100 service plan. Currently, Dom.ru TV is available to the citizens of 17 cities, and by the end of 2013 the service will launched stage-by-stage in all other cities of the company’s presence. When the Subscriber takes up Dom.ru TV package, he or she is provided a Wi-Fi router free of charge, which allows for the simultaneous connection to internet with various devices, including notebooks, tablets, smartphones, etc.
Dom.ru provides the declared speeds thanks to own FTTH networks built from scratch in each city, where the company has operations. All the networks consistently follow the same standard that includes the following parameters: throughput within the core and aggregation – 1- Gbit/sec, to the building – 1 Gbit/sec, at the level of subscriber access – up to 100 Mbit/sec. The networks are reliably backed up, and their functional capabilities are subject to 24-hour monitoring from the single Center, which allows for the proactive response to possible failures. The company’s failure tolerance is 99.9%, which matches the indicators featured by the European telecom market leaders. These and other factors allow Dom.ru to steadily meet the subscribers’ needs in actually unlimited amounts of information.
"The researches show that the majority of consumers perceive telecom as a complex system with non-transparent terms of service use. Dom.ru simplifies the choice by offering easy and clear services, and becomes a more convenient and very transparent operator. Besides, the technical capabilities of Dom.ru networks allow offering to the Subscriber utmost internet speeds and consume content in the HD quality without any limitations. We offer to our users not only HD TV, but also HD internet. We hope that our initiative will be supported by video-services and online cinemas, and will fill our resources with HD content," notes Mikhail Vorobyev, Deputy General Director on Commerce of CJSC ER-Telecom Holding.
Currently, Dom.ru provides services to over 4.5 million subscribers and is one of the TOP-4 internet-providers in Russian and TOP-4 pay TV operators.
