Baring Vostok is surprised at the speed of the court decision to arrest Evison’s remaining shares of Vostochny Bank and will appeal this decision in the higher courts.

Messrs Avetisyan and Yusupov continue to pursue their corporate raid of Vostochny Bank with the full support of the Amur Court, which once again has ignored the legitimate legal arguments of Evison’s lawyers. At the same time, a similar lawsuit by the minority shareholders of the bank against Artem Avetisyan for damages did not even reach preliminary hearings.

Vostochny Bank has clearly suffered damages not at the hands of Evison, which invested more than USD 320 million in the financial institution, but at the hands of Artem Avetisyan’s Finvision which, shortly before the merger of Vostochny with Uniastrum, stripped billions of roubles in assets from the latter.
